Incentives for renewable energy in self-consumption, storage and for thermal energy in the residential sector

Incentive actions

  • Incentive program 4: Implementation of self-consumption installations, with renewable energy sources (wind or photovoltaic), in the residential sector, public administrations and the third sector (private non-profit entities), with or without storage. These beneficiaries must consume annually at least 80% of the energy generated by the photovoltaic or wind installation.

The maximum power to be encouraged in wind or photovoltaic self-consumption installations in programs 1, 2 and 4 can reach 5,000 kW.

  • Incentive program 5: Incorporation of storage in self-consumption installations, with renewable energy sources, already existing in the residential sector, public administrations and the third sector (only storage installations that do not exceed a ratio of installed storage capacity in relation to production power of 5 kWh/kW (lead technologies are not eligible).

Amount of aid

The established aids are specified in Annex II of Royal Decree 477/2021, amended by RD1178/2023 of 27 December. In summary, the values ​​of the established aids are as follows :

For incentive programmes 4 and 5 aimed at the residential sector, public administrations and non-profit entities, the aid is governed by fixed values ​​(called “modules”) which will partly cover the eligible costs.

The integration of storage is encouraged between €140 and €490/kWh, depending on the storage capacity, both for new self-consumption installations and for existing installations.

For the residential sector, public administrations and the third sector, self-consumption and storage installations with a start-up date after June 30, 2021 are also eligible for subsidies. To apply for aid, from December 2, you must submit the corresponding application to the Andalusian Energy Agency with the invoice and payment receipts proving the installation date after June 30.

Programs 1, 2 and 4 include additional assistance for asbestos removal from roofs and the installation of canopies for solar photovoltaic projects.

Programs 4 and 5 establish additional aid for facilities located in municipalities with up to 5,000 inhabitants, or non-urban municipalities with up to 20,000 inhabitants whose urban centers have a population of less than or equal to 5,000 inhabitants, included in the objectives of the National Strategy to Address the Demographic Challenge.
